Originally intended as a sequel to her debut novel, I Heard the Alps Call His Name, Madelyn June transformed the narrative into a memoir and autobiographical family sage, a tale brimming with adventure and history, all woven together with a genealogical twist.
It follows the lives of two little Metis orphans, Madelyn June and her twin sister, Marilyn Joan, whose Indigenous ancestors crossed the Atlantic to 'Turtle Mountain,' now present-day Canada, and bravely faced a new world. Other families followed in their quest to begin a new life in a wild and untamed land, and it chronicles their hardships and triumphs in carving out a new home.

It continues with the thrilling sequel to I Heard the Alps Call His Name, which is filled with adventure and making difficult choices and has a common thread intertwined in the stories - why we choose a new life and the challenges we face.
