The Bucket List

I’ve never been the thrill-seeker type. At forty-nine, I still refuse to ride a roller coaster, let alone leap out of a plane. I’ve always thought people who do those things—especially my best friend, Monica—were a little nuts. And now, I’m sitting here, staring at a list of daredevil stunts she’s somehow left for me... during her will reading.

I swear, if it’s possible to get back at someone in the afterlife, I’m going to find a way.

Turns out, my adventurous, life-of-the-party best friend left me her estate. But there’s a catch—surprise, surprise. I have to complete her bucket list. Not mine. Hers. And I’ve got to finish it all before I hit the big 5-0 because she didn’t make it there herself.

Is it wrong to want to kill someone who’s already dead? Because I’m feeling pretty murderous right now.

Still, I can’t just walk away. I want to honor her last wish... and okay, I kind of want that beach house she left me, too. But let’s be honest—the next few months are either going to completely change my life or land me in heaven right alongside her.
